党建工作站内，来自居委会、企业的几位年轻人正在交流社区推广垃圾分类的做法。总书记十分感兴趣，仔细询问有关情况。

在爱家豪庭小区的“环保小屋”，土壤下面的“织物层”是居民用废旧衣物铺出来的，一旁是可以把湿垃圾转化成花草肥料的“堆肥桶”。集时尚与科技于一体，这方绿意盎然的小天地成为垃圾分类与环保公益的宣传阵地。

Rehearse sketches, engage in roadshows, design posters and brochures, and organize various creative environmental protection theme activities … Volunteers actively carry out various publicity, training and promotion activities from the perspective of cultivating ideas, habits and behaviors, so as to improve the awareness rate of garbage classification knowledge and attract more people to participate in garbage classification volunteer services. Nowadays, more and more young people take the initiative to join in, and the total number of this team has exceeded 2100.

In the past five years, with the continuous adjustment of waste sorting measures, volunteers no longer need to be on duty for a long time to guide residents on how to sort. "Consolidating and deepening the concept of garbage classification with new ways and means" has become their new insistence.

习近平总书记十分关注垃圾分类和资源化利用，多次召开重要会议、作出重要指示、实地了解基层开展垃圾分类工作情况。

“小时候，我住在胡同里，都是晚上倒垃圾。现在，条件好了，环境美了，一定要搞好垃圾分类和回收处理。”2019年春节前夕，在北京草厂四条胡同的社区物业服务站，习近平总书记叮嘱：“从每家每户开始就要培养垃圾分类的意识，养成这个习惯。”

同年，总书记对垃圾分类工作作出重要指示强调，要“加强引导、因地制宜、持续推进，把工作做细做实，持之以恒抓下去”，“让更多人行动起来，培养垃圾分类的好习惯，全社会人人动手，一起来为改善生活环境作努力，一起来为绿色发展、可持续发展作贡献”。

近年来，在总书记的关怀与指引下，我国垃圾分类工作持续深入推进，297个地级以上城市已全面实施生活垃圾分类，居民小区平均覆盖率达到82.5%。
