On May 20th, 2023 Asian Triathlon Cup was held in Qinhu National Wetland Park in Jiangyan, Taizhou, Jiangsu. This triathlon Asian Cup is the integral competition of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. According to the event setting, the schedule of the competition is 1.5 kilometers for swimming, 40 kilometers for cycling and 10 kilometers for running.
At 9 o’clock on May 20th, the starting flute sounded. In the men’s competition, Junping Tanya of Japan was the first to cross the finish line in 1 hour, 44 minutes and 47 seconds, while China finished fourth to sixth.
Later, the women’s triathlon Asian Cup competition was held. After fierce competition in swimming, cycling and running, Huang Anqi from Hebei, China won the championship in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 07 seconds, and Lu Meiyi from Liaoning won the third place. They are all members of the China national team.
After the Asian Triathlon Cup, the National Triathlon Champions Cup Series and Taizhou Triathlon Open will be held in Qinhu Lake, Jiangyan, Taizhou, respectively. More than 500 athletes from 12 provincial and municipal teams and individual teams will participate in these two events.
